How to Install & Activate an eSIM on Your Smartphone
Follow the guide for your device. The wording of settings can differ depending on the phone model and operating-system version.
Before You Begin
- Connect your phone to a stable Wi-Fi network.
- Open the eSIM email and have your QR code ready.
- Keep the installation guide accessible while following the steps.
- If you only have one device, print the QR code or display it on another screen.
iPhone (iOS)
Method 1: Install Your eSIM by Scanning a QR Code
1Prepare Your QR Code
Open your eSIM email on another device or print the QR code. Connect your iPhone to Wi-Fi before starting.
2Open Add eSIM Settings
Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) → Add eSIM. Menu wording may vary by iOS version.
3Scan the QR Code
Select the QR-code option and scan the code supplied with your order.
4Continue and Finish Installation
Tap Continue and follow the on-screen instructions to finish installing your eSIM.
Method 2: Install Your eSIM Manually
Use this method if you cannot scan the QR code and your iPhone offers a manual installation option.
1Open Add eSIM
Go to Settings → Cellular (or Mobile Data) → Add eSIM.
2Choose Enter Details Manually
Select Enter Details Manually if this option is available on your iPhone.
3Enter Your Activation Details
Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code supplied with your order. Enter a confirmation code only if one has been provided.
4Complete Installation
Follow the remaining on-screen instructions. Once installed, check your Cellular settings and select the travel eSIM for mobile data when needed.
After Installation
- Rename eSIM: Settings → Cellular → select eSIM → label (e.g. Travel eSIM).
- Set Default Line: Choose eSIM for Cellular Data if needed.
- Enable Data Roaming: Turn on Data Roaming for travel eSIMs.
Samsung (Android)
1Connect to Wi-Fi
Connect your Samsung phone to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading the eSIM.
2Open SIM Card Manager
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM card manager. Menu wording may vary by model.
3Add an eSIM
Tap Add eSIM or Add mobile plan, depending on your phone's options.
4Scan Your QR Code
Scan the QR code supplied in your order email and follow the prompts on your screen.
5Wait for Installation to Finish
Follow the prompts and wait for the eSIM download and installation to complete.
6Select Your Mobile Data Line
Open SIM card manager and select the new eSIM as your mobile data line when needed.

1Connect to Wi-Fi and Open Settings
Connect your Google Pixel to a stable Wi-Fi network, then open the Settings app.
2Open Network & Internet
Tap Network & internet → SIMs to open your SIM settings.
3Download a SIM
Select Download a SIM instead or the equivalent option to add an eSIM on your Pixel.
4Scan the QR Code or Enter Details
Scan the QR code supplied with your order. If manual entry is offered, use the activation details provided with your eSIM.
5Download and Install Your eSIM
Tap Download and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
6Label Your eSIM
After installation, open your SIM settings and give the new eSIM a recognizable name, such as China Travel or Travel eSIM. This helps you distinguish it from your home SIM.
